School Closure Policy
School closure information
In the event of bad weather it is always the school’s priority to remain open and as such the school team will work to ensure that the site is both accessible and safe.
There are however rare instances where the school might not be able to open as normal as a result of severe weather. In such instances any changes to the usual opening arrangements will be communicated on the school website.
Updates will be broadcast on the radio on local radio stations; 2BR and Radio Lancashire
You can log onto

Please do not assume that school is closed if the weather is poor, as the decision to close is only taken as a last resort when no other alternative is available.
Class Dojo is in place to let parents know if the school is closed due to bad weather. In the event of a school closure, we will aim to notify parents as soon as feasibly possible.
Where no updates have been provided parents should assume that the school is open as normal.
Given the event of bad weather the school advises all pupils, staff and visitors to wrap up warmly and wear sensible waterproof footwear.
